What it is
The Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) is a rating DVSA gives operators, shown as green, amber or red bands. It is based on test and roadside inspection history, and on other data such as prohibitions and enforcement.
Why it matters
- A poor score makes roadside stops more likely.
- Each stop costs time, and a prohibition takes the vehicle off the road until it is fixed.
- It can also influence how your licence is viewed.
What helps your score
- Vehicles that pass the annual test first time.
- Few roadside prohibitions, because defects are found and fixed before the vehicle leaves.
- Good records to show a working system.
The daily check link
Many roadside defects are things a driver could have seen in the yard: lights, tyres, leaks, load security. A daily check that is actually done and acted on prevents those. See common mistakes and the HGV walkaround guide.

Questions
Can I see my OCRS?
